This Yoga and wellness retreat is designed to have minimal impact on our 18 acres of unspoilt land, in harmony with the natural beauty of Spain’s Pizarra Mountains. Hidden away in a valley, reached only by a 4km track that winds through the orange and lemon groves, we are surrounded by breathtaking views, vibrant flora and fauna, caves, mountain streams, springs and even a waterfall.

Bathe in the salt-water pool and soak up some poolside rays as you relax with a good book. Indulge your body and soul with on-site massage treatments, a steam room, and sauna. Tickle your taste buds with 3 freshly cooked, mouth-watering daily meals using the freshest, locally sourced produce.

Stay in a beautiful traditional Spanish finca or get closer to nature and sleep under the glittering stars in your very own fully furnished Teepee or Geodome where you will be lulled to sleep by the sound of cicadas!

Enjoy daily enjoy outdoor Yoga & Meditation sessions on the outdoor wooden deck, gazing at the view and watching the sun set in Savasana. Spend evenings chatting, reading, comfy chill areas, gazing at the stars. And a poolside cinerma night.

About The Place

The main house, El Romero, is a beautifully resored traditional Andalucian finca, with lovely bedrooms, a large kitchen and lounge area and a huge wood burning fireplace.

However, for those who want the full Spanish sensory experience of the mountains at night, there is a choice of teepees Geodesic domes or the Me-pods to bring you closer to Cartama’s nature.

The teepees and ME-Pods are clean, spacious and very comfortable, with tiled floors, electricity and beautiful bedding, perfect for those with an affinity for the outdoors, but who don’t wish to compromise on comfort. Each is connected with paths winding amongst the almond and olive groves, picked out with solar lights. They all have beautiful views across the valley, the stars glittering, a Spanish night breeze whispering through the trees, the sounds of crickets and cicadas lulling you to sleep.

We have two outdoor treatments areas at our yoga retreat and many perfect corners for meditating in a private hammock, a poolside cinerma night, plenty of yoga areas for all possible temperatures, the shala, and deck by the pool and the yoga platform overlooking the mountains.

And with all the yoga mats already there, you only have to bring your swimsuit!
